Remembering Fr. Gerry Robinson, S.J.
We remember with gratitude and prayer Fr. Gerry Robinson, S.J., who served as Director of the Newman Catholic Center at Cal Poly and Cuesta College from 2017–2024 and passed away in November 2025.
Fr. Gerry was a faithful priest and a wise companion to many students and alumni on their journeys of faith. During his years at Newman, he welcomed countless students into the community, celebrated the sacraments with reverence and joy, and accompanied many through moments of discernment, difficulty, and grace. His homilies, sense of humor, and genuine interest in the lives of students left a lasting mark on the Newman community.
We hold in prayer all who knew Fr. Gerry personally, along with his family, his Jesuit community, and everyone who mourns his loss. We commend him to the mercy and love of God, trusting in the hope of the Resurrection:
“Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”
